Is it stated anywhere that Ram is a Collie? Or is it just another assumption?

So did somewhere during GNG, the series was taken out of Shonen Jump and into this new magazine? Or did GNG stay, but never reached the top again and then once GDW started, Yoshi went from Shonen Jump to the new magazine publishers?

GNG was published in Shounen Jump for its whole run from 1983 to 1987, and later stories that are directly tied to it (like the GNG Gaidens) were also published in magazines owned by Shueisha. As for GDW, according to Yoshi's interview included in some editions of Byakuren no Fang, years after GNG had ended and he'd drawn a lot of non-dog manga, he finally felt he'd "done all the things he'd wanted to depict in his works", so he decided to return to drawing dog manga. He then tried pitching the idea of a GNG sequel to a few publishers before Nichibun Comics agreed to publish it (he says that, around that time, sequels tended to do badly, which would explain why publishers would be wary of the idea) and thus GDW began running in Weekly Goraku in 1999.

He doesn't name any of the companies that rejected his pitch, but personally I wouldn't be surprised if Shueisha was one of the companies he approached during that time.

Do we have any kanji or kana for the Shikoku siblings in the anime? Hanji, Heita, Ryou, and Ryuu?

As far as I know, no known kanji exists for their names. The credits just lump them together as "Shikoku dogs" (四国犬) and Japanese Wikipedia just writes their names in hiragana (りょう, りゅう, はんじ、へいた).

I assume the only way to find out if the animation team ever even gave their names kanji is if some day a studio reference sheet for the four was found.

Teru's Father's name is never known. Even if he did have a name, it was never revealed.

Is Nobushige Taichi's father?

I just randomly looked up Nobushige on the Ginga wiki, and the article vaguely mentions that Taichi tried to "save his father" but doesn't really indicate that they're related. But Nobushige's facial markings do look similar to Taichi's so I just had to ask

As it happens, this exact question was asked (and answered) a few pages back

tldr; They couldn't do anything about the bear as long as it was asleep, so they figured they might as well sleep and recover their strength themselves as well.

The entire sequence was quite different from how it was in the anime.

Sakura originally traveled around Japan alongside Gin, John, Akame, and Tesshin, but once she got pregnant and started having trouble keeping up with them, Gin sent her back to Ohu. While Gin and the other top dogs were gone, Smith was in charge of running the place with Tokimune and co, and one of the dogs living there was Lucy, Terry's widow, who'd grown bitter and "jealous of the happiness of others" because of her husband's death. About a month after Sakura arrived in Ohu, Lucy had gotten sick of looking at her being happy and content and so she tricked her into leaving, claiming that Gin had been badly injured in a landslide in the Hida mountains and telling Sakura to hitch a ride on a truck so she could "be at her husband's side".

After Smith realized that Sakura was gone and Lucy confessed to what she'd done, he left Ohu to try and find her. Part of the reason he was unsuccessful was him being forced to stay at a vet clinic after he lost his leg trying to save GB.
